Immerse Yourself in Color

Turn Knowledge into Instinct

Are you passionate about color but struggle to make the concepts second nature? While anyone can learn the basics, truly internalizing them is a different challenge. In this class, we go beyond just learning concepts—we practice them from multiple perspectives, engaging with the material in fun and creative ways to ensure it really sinks in. The aim is to make the language of color so familiar that it becomes instinctive. Ready to dive in?

Color Play Repeat

Learn color concepts through exercises designed to engage you, spark creativity, and help you repeat the concepts over and over so color becomes a language you can speak.

  • Live Classes were included in the first run of this course. This class is presently all pre-recorded and structured in a 3 week learning block, however you have access to the material indefinitely.

  • You will have exercises to do throughout each week that will help you ingest the concepts. I will provide directions, templates and/or videos in the class platform that will walk you through the practice exercises.

  • At the end of the course, you will have your own Color Book, full of exercises, examples, and experiments that you can refer to and add to in the future.

  • We will learn about basic color groupings, color relationships, and discover how to break down colors in a way that we can begin to predict how they will mix.

  • We will explore what is meant by color harmony, color context, color value, color temperature and color saturation.

Understand color interactions in an experiential way

Meet Your Instructor

I created this class because I wanted to make color instinctive and intuitive. Let's do this together!

Marabeth Quin

Instructor

I’m Marabeth Quin, a mixed media collage artist who is dedicated to merging technical mastery with a deep understanding of the emotional/mental influences that shape artistic expression. I love to help fellow artists uncover the critical connection between their potential and their capacity to embrace the sometimes chaotic path of creation. My classes foster resilience, embrace imperfections, and cultivate self-compassion as foundational pieces of the artistic journey.
